LeBlanc House

Obviously, we haven't been able to manage to create any of our own posts to this blog since its creation, so we thought it best that we show off the handy work going on over at Clover Street Chronicles. Because my sister knows that the odds of us traveling to Connecticut to see this construction in person are slim to none, she thought it best to send a video of all the work that her husband has done over the last few months. Pretty impressive, eh?

PS Until Kathleen and Peter figure this blog thing out, I might as well have a little fun with it, right?

Happy Birthday Emily!

Our niece, Emily, turns two today!! Happy Birthday!!

PS Emily's mom (my sister) started this blog for me - which is why there is an Emily birthday post in here. She is still asserting a little editorial control at this point.....

Great Bay Half Marathon

On April 6, 2008, I ran the Great Bay Half Marathon with Danielle, Karen and Kristen. It was Karen's first half marathon (which she finished in a time of 2:01.33 - great job Karen!) and it was great to see her finish. I love running with these women - we always have such a fun time together. Click here for more pictures from that day.

Life is a Highway

When the weather gets nice, one of the things that Peter and I LOVE to do is take out the motorcyle and go for long, scenic rides. This year, we broke out the bike in the May and over Memorial Day Weekend, took a great trip down to Rye with Deb and Ron. You can see more pictures from our great day here.

Sweat Equity

We have been redoing our mudroom over the last several weeks. We painted, put in a tile floor, some hooks and this great bench. This is the finished product - it looks pretty great and we love it!!

Turkey Time!

On May 3rd, Peter got his first turkey. It weighed 21 pounds, had a 10 3/4 inch beard and 1 1/8 inch spurs. Here he is with Ray (his guide), showing off.

Webster House Christmas Party

I am on the board at the Webster House, which is a place for children to live when circumstances prevent them from being able to live at home. For the last two years, we have been lucky enough to bring Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox to our annual Christmas party. He is so generous with his time and it is so great to see him spending time with the kids and volunteers. Click here for more pictures of his visit on December 19, 2007.

Peter Loves Projects

Here is Peter with his tractor, one of his many, many projects around the house and yard.

Reach the Beach

Last fall, I ran in the Reach the Beach Relay with some of my closest friends in the world. Over the course of two days, we spent A LOT of time together - running, driving, eating and trying to sleep. We finished the Relay and best of all, we had a really awesome time together! You can see more pictures from our Reach the Beach weekend here.

Nieces are Nice

Peter and I LOVE spending time with our nieces - Meghan, Katie, Jilly, Elizabeth and Emily - especially because once we are done hanging out, we can send them home to terrorize their parents!!! They are each so unique and special in their own way. This post has some of our favorite pictures of them and if you click here, you can see pictures from the last time we got to hang out with all five of them together.

Introduction

We decided to start this blog because we love our nieces' blog, because we think that we do enough interesting things to keep our blog readers entertained, and because we know if we can do it, Karen, Rick and Emily will have to create one too!! We named it "Weekend Warriors" because that's what we are. On the weekends, Peter loves to tackle projects around the house, no matter how big or small the challenge or, when the season is right, go hunting!!! Kathleen loves to run - anything from a 5k to a marathon! But most of all, after a long week of work, we love to PLAY - in our yard, on our motorcycle, on our boat! We hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!
